Equilibration for kinetic equations
In the past 30 years there have been a number of studies about robust methods for qualitative properties of kinetic equations, especially equilibration, for linear and nonlinear models. The linear kinetic Fokker-Planck equation is a most famous archetype, however even in this setting the theory is incomplete. I will review the whole field and describe work in collaboration with Debbasch and Ollivier.
