The Bass Note of locally uniform geometries
Various recent developments using the conformal bootstrap and random covers, can be viewed as the study of the Bass-Note spectrum of invariant differential operators on locally uniform geometries .Viewed this way, the Euclidean case includes many (some solved but mostly open) problems in the classical geometry of numbers . We review this unifying theme as well as recent advances.
